Elisa Kawaguti



On her success at the 8th International Henryk Wieniawski Competition, Elisa Kawaguti (b. 1959) won the laurels at the Nicolo Paganini Competition in Genoa (1984) and the Queen Elizabeth Competition in Brussels (1985), where she completed her post-graduate studies with Professor André Gertler. It was also at the Belgian capital that she studied conducting. She lives in Belgium, and works as educator at Lemmens Institute in Leuven. Extensively performs and records - also as chamber musician - in Europe and Japan.
