Vasiliki Papadopoulou


Vasiliki Papadopoulou studied violin at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln (Diploma) and the Zurich University of the Arts (Master of Arts), as well as musicology and history of art at the University of Vienna. She is also dedicated to the baroque violin and historically informed performance practice, having participated in various ensembles and orchestras. She received her PhD from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, with a thesis on the performance and editions’ history of J. S. Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin, for which she was awarded the Austrian state Award of Excellence 2015

She is currently a research assistant for the Johannes Brahms Gesamtausgabe at the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna and member of the Junge Akademie of the Academy of Sciences and Literature in Mainz.
