Wieniawski Competition: Second Stage of Preselection in the Form of Video Auditions

Taking into account the current geopolitical situation, we have decided to change the format of the second stage of qualifications for the 17th Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition and to forgo live auditions in selected cities worldwide.

Our priority is the safety of the Competition participants and all those involved in its organisation.
In this difficult time, we also wish to ensure equal opportunities for all candidates.

What will the second stage of preselection look like?

As in the first stage, the Jury will evaluate candidates on the basis of submitted recordings. The required programme includes: one caprice by N. Paganini of the candidate's choice; one of the indicated sets of sonatas and partitas for solo violin by J.S. Bach; and one of the specified compositions (or group of works) by H. Wieniawski. 

The names of the 50 violinists qualified for the 17th Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition will be announced on 1 June 2026.
