Wieniawski Competition 2026 in Numbers
On 9 January we concluded the acceptance of applications for the 17th edition of the Wieniawski Competition, which will take place from 8 to 25 October 2026.
We received 252 applications from 36 countries across 4 continents. The largest number of applications came from China, Japan, Poland, South Korea and the United States.
Among the candidates, 60% are women and 40% are men.
The oldest candidate for the preselection was born in 1996, while the youngest was born in 2008.
236 violinists fulfilled the requirements of the competition regulations.
We will make the results of the first preselection stage – the evaluation of submitted recordings – public in February.
The second preselection stage – live auditions – will be held between 18 April and 24 May 2026.
We will announce the locations and exact dates of the preselection auditions in the near future.
The final list of participants for the 17th Wieniawski Competition will be published on 1 June 2026.
