About WFIMC
Thirteen international music competitions joined together in 1957 to found the World Federation of International Music Competitions. Today the WFIMC has grown to include more than 120 member competitions. Becoming – and remaining – a member of the WFIMC, is reserved for music competitions of the highest artistic and organisational standard. Each and every member of the WFIMC has an important role to play in international music life. WFIMC is a global network of internationally recognized organizations dedicated to identifying the most promising young talents in the great tradition of classical music and to furthering their careers by presenting them in public competition before distinguished juries, audiences, the media, and the entire music community. In so doing, it contributes to the growth of the classical music world.
