CONCERT CALENDAR / TOUR PROGRAMME 2022-2024

The official concert tour of the 16th Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition, which began last October shortly after the ceremonial Laureate Concerts in Poznan and Warsaw, is entering its final phase. The grand tour of the top three finalists – Hina Maeda of Japan, Meruert Karmenova of Kazakhstan and Qingzhu Weng of China – comprises 80 concerts in 21 countries on five continents.

Asia, Africa and Europe... Where will our Laureates perform next? There is still plenty of excitement ahead for the talented violinists in concert!

In the last quarter of this year, Competition winner Hina Maeda will give 18 symphonic concerts and recitals in Korea (Daegu, Seoul), Egypt (Cairo), France (Nancy, Bordeaux, La Rochelle, Périgueux), the Netherlands (Eindhoven), Montenegro (Podgorica), Croatia (Zagreb), Slovenia (Ljubljana, Maribor), Lithuania (Vilnius), Latvia (Liepāja) and Hungary (Budapest).

On September 15, Third Prize Winner Qingzu Weng will play at the opening of the Olsztyn Philharmonic's upcoming artistic season, while in mid-December, Second Prize Winner Meruert Karmenova will perform with the Friedrichshafen Symphony Orchestra.

Organized in partnership with the National Institute of Music and Dance using funds from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the City of Poznań, the concerts are extra-statutory prizes in the Competition. The tour is managed by SONORA Music, and partners AMATI Inc. (Japan), The Bridge Company (Korea) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland.

The well-being of our planet is our guiding principle in the planning of the tour. We want to cut CO2 emissions, and therefore make every effort to cover as few kilometers as possible from one concert hall to another. Whenever possible, we choose a "green" means of transportation, such as rail.
